Two arrested after man loses three fingers in machete attack in Dublin

Stock imageGardai have arrested two people in connection with a horror machete attack in which a man lost three fingers and had an acidic substance thrown in his face.The attack occurred at house in Kilcronan View, Clondalkin, Dublin shortly after noon yesterday.A man, aged in his 20s, and a youth, aged in his late teens, were arrested this morning.Both males are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda Station in Dublin..The attack has been linked to an ongoing feud in the area.It’s understood the man was attacked by people known to him.He fled into a house but he was pursued and caught for a second time before he was viciously assaulted.In the wake of the attack, the injured man was rushed to Tallaght University HospitalThe area where the assault took place has been sealed off and an investigation is ongoing.It is the latest in a series of violent incidents as part of the feud which has been ongoing for a number of years.Threats have also been filmed and posted on social media.News in 90 seconds - 10th May 2025 In a statement, An Garda Síochána said officers responded to reports of a serious assault at a house in Kilcronan View, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 at approximately 12.30pm.Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area this morning have also been asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.An appeal has been issued for anyone with any information relating to the incident to please come forward with people being urged to contact Clondalkin Garda Station Garda Station on 01 666 7600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
