Voting has finished in the Gorton and Denton by-election - stick with Sky News all night for all the lates from the count!

Voters have been heading to the polls following the resignation of Labour MP Andrew Gwynne on health grounds in January. Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, sought the Labour nomination to contest the seat but was blocked by the party’s NEC.

The Greens and Reform UK are attempting to frame the race as a fight between them, but the question remains whether Labour can cling on to its hold. Polls close at 10pm on Thursday, with counting set to begin shortly after.
