AI accelerates spread of disinformation with realistic war videos

Artificial intelligence is accelerating the spread of false content, with improving video tools fuelling deliberate disinformation and inadvertent misinformation.

Recent fakes include fabricated strikes in Tel Aviv, Bahrain and Iraq, and old clips miscaptioned as attacks in Iran and Saudi Arabia.
