‘I’m not happy’: Trump blasts Australia for failure to help ‘when asked’

US President Donald Trump has criticised the Albanese government again, this time over its new defence budget.

Defence Minister Richard Marles has pledged to increase spending to three per cent of GDP by 2033, adding only zero-point two percentage points to defence spending over the next seven years.

It has fallen short on Donald Trump's demand for Australia to spend three point five per cent of GDP.

“Well, I’m not happy with Australia because they were not there when we asked them to be there,” Mr Trump said.

“I’m not happy.”
