The touch of the Holy Light this year found the Holy Land at war for the second consecutive year, a war without end with the nervous and embarrassed Netanyahu, against whom there is a pending internationally warrrant for genocide, unable to defeat the Palestinian Resistance in the Gaza Strip and the Palestinians, Muslims and Christians, raising the Cross of Independence for which they fight, fighters and civilians in an unbreakable unity. Hence the unprecedented collective punishment that the homeless Palestinians are suffering by being bombed in their tents (!) by the Israeli occupation forces and forced to constantly move amidst all kinds of hardships: hunger, thirst, adverse weather conditions, lack of hygiene and medical care infrastructure and, above all, the threat to the lives of civilians at any moment. Some believe that the acute and prolonged conflict creates an unbridgeable chaos of violence and hatred between the two sides, making the prospect of creating an independent Palestinian State unattainable. They are the same people who, for decades, under various pretexts, have arrogantly refused to consent to the establishment of a Palestinian State. Quite the opposite. Now is the time to launch the establishment of an independent Palestinian State. It is precisely this war of attrition that has led 56% of Israeli public opinion to demand an end to the war with an agreement with Hamas for the exchange of prisoners. In 18 months of war, Hamas has kept most of its underground infrastructure intact, making the prospect of its defeat a distant dream for Tel Aviv. Lasting peace in the region will not only benefit Israelis and Palestinians, but also the wider region. The resumption of negotiations on the Palestinian issue is a moral and strategic imperative, and therefore the highest priority must be given to the creation of an Independent Palestinian State. Only then will the two peoples, Palestinians and Israelis, be able to live peacefully in the region.
