The internet is awash with hair growth advice, but many viral techniques are eventually labelled as fads.With the right products and techniques, however, many users achieve noticeable results, sometimes within months.This was the case for one TikToker named Daniella, who told viewers that combining dermaroller and hair oiling practices helped fill in her hairline.Showing off her thick locks to viewers, she shared: “It’s filled up. It’s closed up on both ends. Do you remember what it looked like before? There was no hair here. Dermaroller and hair oil for a few months got me here.”The Cleveland Clinic Health Essentials notes that microneedling can support hair regrowth when combined with hair loss treatments.The health body’s Doctor Taylor Bullock cautions that the practice is no magic bullet for hair thinning, however.“Microneedling only helps with certain types of hair loss,” he explained. “If you have hair loss due to an iron deficiency, for example, you should focus your efforts on iron supplementation and finding the root cause of your deficiency.“Your dermatologist may run tests to find out what type of hair loss you have. Then, you can discuss what’s causing your hair loss and effectively treat it.”In Daniella's case, her choice to use hair oil along with her dermaroller may have contributed to her hair growth through complementary mechanisms.
