Chopped founder to launch Hyrox-like accessible fitness race league TRYKA

The founder of Freshly Chopped has launched a new hybrid fitness race league similar to Hyrox but intended to be more inclusive and accessible. TRYKA's 12-month league season will commence at RDS Simmonscourt in Dublin on 11-12 October and culminate with a finale in the Algarve in October 2026. Events will take place across Ireland and are open to people of all fitness levels, and there will be multiple race formats for individuals, pairs, gym groups, and corporate teams. Founded by entrepreneur Brian Lee, TRYKA is designed to "reshape the fitness event landscape by putting community, accessibility and Irish pride at its core." General tickets for the launch event will go on sale next Thursday (19 June) with individual entry priced at €110, but there is early access for affiliate companies, gyms and clubs. The full list of affiliate partners is available on tryka.fit. "We created TRYKA to offer something fresh, inclusive, and proudly Irish," says Lee. "We’re building a new community that welcomes everyone, whether you're just starting your fitness journey or you're a seasoned athlete." “After competing in Hyrox events across Europe, I saw a real gap in the market here. "Many people love the idea of hybrid fitness racing, but feel it’s out of reach — too intense, too exclusive or just not for them. "TRYKA is designed to change that and bring fitness racing to the wider public. “We wanted to build a league that puts community first — where everyday gym-goers, beginners and corporate teams can come together, challenge themselves and have fun in a supportive atmosphere. "This is about more than just competition, it’s about building connections, boosting confidence and creating something positive across Ireland.” Brian Lee has launched TRYKA, an accessible fitness racing league intended to rival Hyrox. Race formats include 8 x 800m runs paired with functional fitness challenges. TRYKA 500 offers a shorter, beginner-friendly version with 500m runs and modified workouts.
