Is Rappa worth pulling in Honkai Star Rail 4.0?

close

5-star Imaginary Erudition character Rappa is having her rerun banner in the second half of Honkai Star Rail 4.0. Rappa is a Break-based DPS unit, who can function as a hypercarry in Break/Super-Break teams. While she was a pretty meta-defining unit during her initial release in version 2.6, her usefulness has diminished quite a bit since then, especially with the launch of newer and stronger characters with more defined kits. Considering these circumstances, players might be wondering about her pull value.

Keeping the current meta in mind, Rappa is not worth pulling for in Honkai Star Rail 4.0. Read on to know why.

Even though Rappa's utility was pretty decent during her initial launch all the way back in Honkai Star Rail 2.6, she has since been relegated to a character that is rarely used, even while clearing endgame content. Designed to be an AoE break DPS, Rappa does excel at her role. However, with the ongoing trend of enemy HP inflation – coupled with the release of far stronger DPS units – her efficacy has since been on the decline.

At E0, Rappa performs fairly worse than Firefly, who has recently gotten a new lease of life, thanks to The Dahlia's release. In the absence of any such dedicated support units to boost Rappa's overall damage output, she has been largely forgotten, and is incapable of clearing extremely challenging endgame gameplay content such as Apocalyptic Shadow and Anomaly Arbitration. That said, Rappa does have decent synergy with The Dahlia, and players who already own her can find some use for her again.

No, you should not pull for Rappa in the upcoming version 4.0 update, and here is why:

In the current meta, Rappa is non-functional without The Dahlia. The Dahlia is the best Break support unit currently in game, and Rappa's overall damage output plunges massively without her in the team.Even with The Dahlia's support, Firefly is a better and stronger Break DPS, automatically reducing Rappa's value in her own niche.Rappa performs better at higher investments, and is not very viable at E0.

Hence, it would be wise to not pull for Rappa in Honkai Star Rail 4.0, and instead opt for other stronger characters such as Sparxie and Yao Guang, who are also very relevant to the current Elation meta.
