Keir Starmer ‘desperate’ amid polling slump as he targets EU alignment

Sky News contributor Sophie Elsworth reacts to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer wanting the power to sign Britain up to EU single market rules to avoid a normal parliamentary vote.

“This is an attempt by him to break away from Brexit … but he’s also a Prime Minister that is desperate because he’s losing in the polls,” Ms Elsworth told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“He knows that households are hurting, and he thinks this might be a way to align the UK back with the EU and hopefully bring prices down on items here.

“He has to take drastic measures to try and ensure he’s not booted out of office.”
