Foreign Minister on Australia’s position amid escalating US-Iran conflict
Foreign Minister Penny Wong has been grilled by Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell regarding Australia’s position on the US-Iran conflict.
Tensions have again escalated as Iran has declared the Strait of Hormuz closed, prompting attacks from both sides.
Ms Wong claimed the government aligns with “national interests” when asked if Australia was leaning towards European and UK allies over America.
The foreign minister also noted the US under President Trump “differs very greatly from many past administrations”.
