Kimmel pushes back after Melania Trump urges his firing

President Donald Trump called Monday for ABC to fire late-night host Jimmy Kimmel after he jokingly called first lady Melania Trump an “expectant widow” during a White House Correspondents’ Dinner skit on his show last week.

Hours earlier, Melania Trump had implied Kimmel should lose his job over the same comments.

Kimmel defended himself on Monday’s show. “You know sometimes you wake up in the morning and the first lady puts out a statement demanding you be fired from your job? We’ve all been there, right?” Kimmel asked at the beginning of his monologue on Monday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
