LIVE NEWS: Hegseth testifies on Iran war, King Charles in US, WHCD shooting suspect in court & more

US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth will testify for the second day in a row on Capitol Hill, facing questions from lawmakers on the war with Iran and the historic $1.5-trillion dollar budget plan for his department. Hegseth, joined by General Dan "Razin" Caine, the chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff testified before the House Armed Services Committee on Wednesday and will face similar questions from lawmakers with the Senate Armed Services Committee on Thursday.

A hearing Thursday is expected to determine whether Cole Tomas Allen, the man accused of attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner, will be released on bond. The incident happened on Saturday night, as Trump attended the event for the first time during either of his terms.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla will wrap up their trip to the US after stopping Wednesday in New York City to visit the 9/11 Memorial, along with other stops along their tour, marking 250 years of America's independence from Britain and the UK.
