‘Incredibly bad’: UK Labour faces historic election collapse across Wales and Scotland

Conservative political advisor Claire Pearsall has commented on the “massive beating” suffered by the UK Labour Party during the election.

“We haven't seen anything like this, I think, in all the years I’ve been dealing with politics,” Ms Pearsall said.

“You've seen the governing party, the Labour Party, doing so incredibly badly; they have lost control of the Welsh government, which is something that they’ve had since its inception.

“They have also lost all of their seats pretty much in Scotland, and the local councils in England have taken a massive beating.

“There are an awful lot of Labour councillors that are pretty upset.”
