Anjelah Johnson-Reyes shines in her 7th comedy special, a heartfelt new hour of stand-up that explores her ever-evolving family dynamics, the discoveries that come with getting older, and the grand adventure of becoming a mother for the first time later in life. Through observations about her massive extended family and the realization that she’s entered her “Tia Era,” Anjelah’s stories continue to resonate with audiences worldwide.
At the core of the special is Anjelah’s journey into motherhood in her 40s. Using her natural wit and charm, she opens up about personal struggles with fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum life, while touching on the universal themes of relationships, generational shifts, and fighting people on airplanes.
Making her directorial debut, Anjelah filmed the self-financed and self-produced special across two sold-out shows at the historic El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday, February 28, 2026. This 7th special is the culmination of Anjelah’s widely successful “The Family Reunion” stand-up tour, which spanned 100+ shows in major theaters across the United States in 2025–2026. Following the success of her last two specials, “Say I Won’t” and “Technically Not Stalking”, it only makes sense that Anjelah also brings her 7th special to YouTube to continue making her comedy available to fans all over the world. YouTube has been a home for Anjelah for over 20 years, ever since her “Nail Salon” joke went viral on the platform.
