Government buildings evacuated with military police at scene

Emergency services were called to Government Buildings this morning as a full evacuation was carried out. Several fire trucks and military police arrived at Merrion Street, with gardai temporarily redirecting traffic. Firefighters were seen leaving Government Buildings, with staff temporarily not allowed to enter the premises. The incident came to a close around shortly after 10am, following around an hour and a half of activity. The Irish Mirror understands that an IT issue triggered the fire alarm, leading to a full evacuation. Cabinet is due to meet at 11.30am.
