Cyclist killed in crash on north Dublin road
A cyclist has died following a collision involving a bicycle and a car in north Dublin last night. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the fatal collision that occurred on the R139 in Dublin 17. Emergency services and Gardaí responded to the scene shortly after 8pm. The cyclist, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. A technical examination of the scene was carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and traffic diversions have since been lifted. The Coroner has been notified and the deceased has been transported to the Dublin City Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be arranged. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. Road users who were in the area between 7:30pm and 8:15pm and may have camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, are asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
