Notre Dame football loses defensive end Jordan Botelho to another serious injury
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Notre Dame defensive end Jordan Botelho has suffered another serious injury after missing 13 games last season with a knee injury. Our partners at the South Bend Tribune have confirmed that Botelho has suffered a pectoral injury (chest muscle) and he will likely miss about four months. That means he will be back in early to mid October, missing 6 or 7 games. He reportedly suffered the injury while working out on his own.Botelho was a starter last season and was playing very well when he injured his knee against Purdue and was lost for the rest of the year.He decided to come back and play in what would be his sixth year, but it looks like he’ll miss a pretty good chunk of the season.Fortunately, the Irish have a lot of depth at the defensive end position with Boubacar Traore, Josh Burnham, Bryce Young and Junior Tuihalamaka all having experience and quality play under their belts. The Irish will hopefully have a healthy Botelho for the last part of the season and another College Football Playoff run. Copyright 2025 WNDU. All rights reserved.
