Courtroom was silent after DOJ's admission, CNN reporter says
The full grand jury never reviewed the indictment it handed up against former FBI Director James Comey, interim US Attorney Lindsey Halligan conceded Wednesday.
In a shocking back and forth, prosecutors said that instead of presenting a new indictment to the grand jury after it declined to approve one of the counts, Halligan simply brought an altered version to the magistrateโs courtroom for the grand juryโs foreperson to sign. Comeyโs attorney now argues that Halliganโs testimony indicates โthere is no indictmentโ against his client.
CNN crime and justice correspondent Katelyn Polantz reports from the courthouse, and Wolf Blitzer speaks with former federal prosecutor and Politico Magazine senior writer Ankush Khardori.
