Can a £1,000 box and a high-mileage used car really beat a Tesla at its own game? Mat’s on a mission to find out!

Elon Musk wants over £6,800 to add "Full Self-Driving" to a new Tesla Model 3. But Mat thinks he can do it for way less. He’s bought a 2016 Skoda Superb for £5,850 and paired it with a comma four system for just £942.

The goal? A DIY autonomous car that costs less than a Tesla software upgrade! So what will happen in this video?

First up, Mat and the team use Carwow to find a cheap, used car with Adaptive Cruise Control. Once the car’s been secured (a top-spec, 165,000-mile Skoda Superb Lauren & Klement edition!), we’ll get it checked over to ensure it’s fully roadworthy.

Once any issues have been fixed, Mat and Nick will get to work installing the system in the car (and trust us, it’s harder than you may think). But once it’s in place, Mat and Nick will test the system on our private test track and runway, before taking it out on the open road!

The question is, will the comma system actually work? And more importantly, will it perform better than the Tesla?! Drop your guess in the comments below, and then keep watching to see which comes out on top!
