President Trump claims 'very good chance' of deal with Iran to end war

US President Donald Trump says there's a "very good chance" of a deal with Iran to end the war.

It comes after he postponed his threatened strikes on Iranian power plants after "very good and productive" talks,. Tehran later claimed these discussions never took place.

Iran said Trump had "backed down" after its "firm warning" it would hit critical infrastructure in the Gulf, and called his claims "fake news".

After hitting a four-year high, the price of oil fell dramatically after Trump's comments, with the price of gas also dropping.
