A victim of the suspected terror attack in Golders Green has told ITV News that the government is "not doing its job" in protecting the Jewish community and that it is a "miracle" he is alive.
Shilome Rand, 34, is being treated in hospital for wounds to the chest after he was stabbed as he was leaving his synagogue on Wednesday morning.
He said he had been inundated with messages since his identity, as one of the two victims of the attack, was revealed in dramatic video of the attack.
"People are really concerned, people are afraid, people are uncomfortable walking in the street, people are blaming obviously the government for not doing anything about what's going on," he told ITV News UK Editor Paul Brand.
"It's for the past few months really that our community is suffering from these type of attacks. And now it's going on and trying to take people's lives and it's really terrible."
Asked whether he also felt let down by the government, Shilome said "definitely".
He added: "The government, they are the ones that are able to take care of the problems. And they are not doing their job."
Shilome told ITV News that he was heading back to his car, after doing his studies at the synagogue, when the suspect came running towards him.
He was not immediately aware of the imminent threat, but as the victim launched his attack, Shilome realised his life was in danger.
"He looked angry, he looked angry," he told ITV News. "You could feel it in his facial expressions, it was like he was out to get me."
Shilome said he was initially told that he would need emergency surgery, but that his wound was not as bad as first feared.
"Thanks to God that I am recovering, and the wound isn't so bad as they initially thought," he said.
He said he was lucky to be alive.
"I am here and I can talk, and it's really a miracle that has happened to me today," he told ITV News.
A second man who has been named as Moshe Shine, aged 76, was attacked at a bus stop and also admitted to hospital.
ITV News understands Mr Shine is in a serious but stable condition.
